Are you entitled to additional NHS pension?
Some GPs and Opthalmic practitioners who retired from the NHS pension scheme between 1 April 2004 and 31 March 2008 may have been paid less pension than they were entitled to receive.
The good news is that following a judical review the dynamising factors imposed in 2006 by the Secretary of State for Health have been revised. This means that a number of NHS pensioners who retired during that period should be contacted shortly with details of their increased pension entitlement.
If you are affected by this change then you will need to review the capital valve of your various pensions to ensure you have not now exceeded your pension Life Time Allowance. A tax charge of 55% of the extra lump sum or 25% of the capital value of the additional pension could in some circumstances become payable.
Please call or speak to your Financial Adviser to see whether a claim for either Primary or Enhanced Protection might help.
