richardRichard Hilling ACA, FCCA
Director – Accounts and Finance

Richard has worked in the field of specialist medical accountancy since 1995, and was one of the founder members of David Ridley Associates when it was established in 2004.

On a day-to-day basis Richard deals with all aspects of business advice and support including management accounting, acquisition, sales and planning work. He’s also involved in the preparation and delivery of accounts, and the financial control and management of the business.

Perhaps unsurprisingly for an accountant, Richard enjoys working with numbers. He cites his favourite aspects of the job as using complex spreadsheets, and learning and implementing new software packages in an ever changing IT world.

Loren Kellaway-Moore FCCA

Loren joined David Ridley Associates in 2007. Her main responsibility is in preparing accounting reports, including profit and loss statements. She also monitors the finances of each client on a regular basis to help them make fully informed decisions about their businesses.

The best part of Loren’s job is being able to talk to clients on a daily basis. She also particularly enjoys multi-tasking, which comes in handy in a busy office!

Tim Wells

Tim has amassed over 25 years’ accountancy experience, including 22 years working almost exclusively with doctors and dentists. He has been with David Ridley Associates since it was founded in 2004.

Tim’s daily tasks are extensive, but he particularly enjoys building a rapport with his clients. Typically his role includes the preparation of accounts from complete and incomplete records, preparing projected accounts, and compiling VAT returns. He also enjoys advising on bookkeeping and accounting systems.


Steve Dean ATT, STEP
Director – Tax & Marketing

Steve is the self-confessed ‘new boy’ to the field of specialist medical accounting, although he has been with the company since 2008! Prior to joining David Ridley Associates, Steve had accumulated over 26 years’ tax experience from his time at Deloitte and Lester Aldridge Solicitors in Bournemouth.

Steve holds overall responsibility for the tax affairs of Personal and Corporate clients, and markets the company’s services to new clients. He is also involved in managing the tax impact on clients arising from the recent changes to the NHS Pension Scheme.
Steve’s favourite part of his job is finding solutions to any problems that occur, and he particularly enjoys successfully reducing clients’ tax bills.

Barry Whitmarsh ATT

Barry joined us in 2009, having worked in tax for the previous 26 years and specifically in medical accountancy since 1998.

Barry’s extensive experience has taught him that offering timely and proactive advice is the way to take the stress out of dealing with the tax man. His remit is to ensure that his clients pay exactly what they owe and not a penny more with no nasty surprises along the way. This involves dealing with his clients’ income tax affairs promptly, including preparing Tax Returns and Tax Savings Schedules for individuals and businesses.

He likes to establish a good personal relationship with his clients and has an excellent grasp of his subject delivered with an acute sense of humour!
